My great aunt Flo taught me how to knit when I was nine years old as a way to keep my hands and mind busy while I was recuperating from an accident. I spent the entire summer perfecting my knits and purls. I learned early the importance of
NO IDLE HANDS
My college roommate taught me how to crochet. She also taught me how to cross stitch.
From then on I craved all things fiber arts related.
I learned. Then I taught. I learned some more. Then I connected with others with the same passion for fiber. Throughout space and time fiber has woven us together. It warms and adorns us. I’ve met fiber artisans all over the world who are incredibly creative and who share their love and craft with those in their own communities.
It is the common thread that binds us.
