“She stretches out her hands to the poor,
and reaches forth her hands to the needy.” — Proverbs 31:20

The Gift in Your Hands
Every skein you unwind, every loop you pull, every knot you tie is more than a craft, it’s a gift placed in your hands to be given away. Our Creator entrusts us with talents so they can flow outward in acts of mercy, meeting the very real needs of those most vulnerable among us.
What Is a Soap Sack?
A Soap SACK (Supporting A Community with Kindness) is a small, reusable cotton pouch that holds a full-size bar of soap. Volunteers across the country crochet or knit these sacks, tuck a bar of soap inside, and donate them to food pantries, homeless shelters, and transitional-housing centers. Because the pouch doubles as a washcloth, each sack restores both dignity and basic hygiene to someone who might otherwise go without. uwmoc.galaxydigital.com
Why We Make Them
When the Proverbs 31 woman extends her hands, she models a life directed outward—hands that give. Soap Sacks embody that same spirit of practical compassion. A simple bar of soap can mean the difference between confidence and shame; between wellness and illness. By crocheting or knitting a Soap Sack, you wrap someone in tangible kindness, stitch by stitch.

Your Call to Action
Let’s flood our communities with kindness—one Soap Sack at a time. Gather your yarn, invite a friend, host a stitching circle, or make a quiet sack during evening prayers. Then stretch out your hands and give it away. When you do, you’ll discover the beautiful paradox of generosity: the more you pour out, the fuller your heart becomes.
