There’s a moment in early spring on the St. Lawrence River, at the border of NY and Canada, when the wind rushes off the water, carrying hints of lavender skies and sapphire waves. That’s when I reach for yarn and hook, drawing inspiration from the ripples, chill, and color palette of the day. The River View Cowl was born on one such blustery morning—its texture echoing the steady current, its warmth wrapping me like a faithful promise.
This simple yet elegant piece is a reflection of the verse in Proverbs 31:22:
“She makes herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is fine linen and purple.”
Crafted with intention, this cowl is one of those “coverings”—both practical and beautiful. It’s a reminder that even the smallest stitches, when made with love, fulfill a purpose beyond the surface. Whether for yourself or a loved one, this cowl offers warmth and witness—an act of both craftsmanship and care.
